On the evening of 25th January 1859 a party of 26 admirers of our national bard sat down to dinner in the Elephant Hotel, High Street, Dumbarton and so began Dumbarton Burns Club.
The club has a long record of annual celebration of Robert Burns ever since.
Much more of this can be read in ’Early History of the Club’ on the left.  We pride ourselves by ensuring that all performers are from within the club and we continue to have a high standard of capable members.
We have a membership of around 120, mainly local but we have a number from all parts of Great Britain and beyond.
We hold our Annual ‘Burns Supper’ on the nearest Friday to 25th January and our St. Andrew’s Night on the Friday nearest to 30th November.
This web site gives you information about the club, about it’s relationship to Dumbarton. It is worth noting that the Federation Number in the header refers to the alphabetic list and does not reflect the historic date of the club’s origin.
