The History of Dumbarton Burns Club

Published in 2005, Jimmy Hempstead and Mike Taylor produced a very readable book of 112 pages.

 There are many quality pictures, both old and new, and details of Club events since it's inception in 1859.

A thoroughly recommended read!

Rabbie's Return tae Dumbarton

A fanciful poem, by Ian Mclean, that describes Rabbie Burns revisiting the local places he visited in 1787. Starting at Inverary, he ends up at the Annual Supper of the Dumbarton Club and gives his "opinion" of what he sees there.

It is presented as a short DVD with around 100 images matching the words of the poem.

A booklet,with full explanations to the poem, is included:

It's o'er twa hunner years since frae life Ah slipped

So Ah thocht Ah'd come back an' hae a trip 

Tae some o' the places Ah huv been

An' see if the folk are still as keen on a' the thochts Ah'd pit on paper,
