Robert Burns : Cronies, Colleagues and Contemporaries

This is Jimmy Hemsptead's magnum opus. The culmination of some 40 years of research has produced a truly original book which is just what it says on the title.
A heavyweight book, in all senses, it has 275 pages,  is beautifully illustrated and weighs in at
2lb 8oz (114 gms) with a high quality,hard back, finish.

This costs £24.50 plus postage of  £5.00 within the UK and £13 overseas

The History Of Dumbarton Burns Club

Published in 2005 by Jimmy Hempstead and Mike Taylor, both long standing Club members, this is an emminently readable book of  112 pages .
The cost is £10 plus postage.

Robert Burns and Dumbartonshire

This is a scholarly acount of Burns West Highland Trip ending in Dumbarton where he was given  his Burgess Ticket
The cost is £10 plus plus postage

Rhyme for Fun

On the left  is the original book of Jimmy Hempstead's poem, sadly now out of print. However the entire contents will be republished within "A Rag Bag of Rhyme" mentioned below.

A Rag Bag of Rhyme

This book will be published during the Year of the Homecoming (2009)  It will consist of  the existing, but out of print, Rhyme for Fun and a new collection of poems by Jimmy Hempstead. This book is currently ( ie at September 2009) undergoing final proofing and is on track to be published in November 2009

Rabbie's Return to Dumbarton

This is a fanciful poem by Ian Mclean, another club member, where  it is envisaged that Robert Burns "came back" and retraced his West Highland Tour.
The first half of the poem is historically accurate but when he "reaches" Dumbarton it turns into more of a fantasy where Burns gives his opinion of the Burns Supper he joins there.
It is presented in the form of a short DVD with around 100 images matching the narrative
Again the cost is £10 plus postage.
