Club Information
& News
This year's Bools match took place in Dumfries on 18th September 2011.Sadly, the result was a draw. Photographs of the event can be fond via the index page. __________________________________________________________________________
The Club has maintained a small and growing collection of Burns Books
in the local library, but we were asked to relocate them recently at short
notice as the library was being refurbished and space was no
longer available. They are currently in a member's workplace as we are
having difficulty in finding suitable, secure, heated and
accessible premises for them. There are two book cases measuring about
six feet by eight in total. __________________________________________________________________________If any member has suggestions about where they can be located please contact the club via the "email us" on the Home Page Ragbag
of Rhyme was published by the Club in time for the 2010 St Andrew's
Night and each member has received a copy. Further copies are available
at £7 -- email via the link on the Home Page or by clicking here.
An image of the front cover can seen via the Publications button on the Home Page. A new poem by Ian Mclean ("Auld Jimmy") can be downloaded from the "Publications" page. ___________________________________________________________________________ As a small aside you may note that the title of one of Jimmy's books is entitled "Robert Burns and Dumbartonshire". Now, the cognoscenti among you will know that , while the town is called Dumbarton, the county is Dunbartonshire. Concerned that Jimmy had made a very rare mistake; he was challenged. His reply was that it was Dumbartonshire in Burns's day! |
