Bob
Callander has been the club's Honorary Treasurer for the last 20 years.
At the AGM on 27th March he stood down and was replaced by Ian McLean,
who reluctantly agreed to take on the post.
Bob has been an exemplary Treasurer and
was
roundly thanked for his assiduous efforts over the years. At last
year's AGM he was given Life Membership of the club.

The
club has been busy
assisting Jimmy Hempstead getting his 'new' book of poems ready to be
published in time for the St. Andrew's Night on 27th November 209.
'Ragbag of Rhyme' - as it is called--
will incorporate his original 'Rhyme for Fun' poems along with poems he
has written over the years -- from 1948 to 2007 --resulting in a book
of some 120 pages including illustrations of some of the subjects of
his
works.
Fund raising has been on-going for a few
years to enable all members to receive a complimentary copy, however
enough have been ordered to allow for some for general sale. The price
has yet to be decided but it should be in the region of £8 to
£10.
As they say --- Watch this space!
An image of the front cover can seen via the Publications button on the
left.
As a small aside you may note that the title of one of the books is
Robert Burns and Dumbartonshire. Now the cognoscenti among you
will know that , while the town is called Dumbarton, the county is
Dunbartonshire.
Concerned that Jimmy had made a very rare mistake;
he was challenged. His reply was that it was Dumbartonshire in
Burns's day!
